East Catholic IEA Team

The East Catholic IEA Team was founded in 2015 by coach Brittney LaMark and team coordinator Sarah Adanti. The team is comprised of students from East Catholic High School in Manchester, CT.

The IEA is open to full-time students in grades 6-12 who ride in regular lessons and are comfortable cantering an unfamiliar horse in a group. Divisions are available for a range of ability levels.

IEA shows are different from regular horse shows - teams travel to host teams' facilities and ride horses that are provided by the host. Riders earn points for each ribbon they receive, and those riders who accumulate enough points are eligible for post-season competition Riders may compete in up to 5 regular season shows.

Show clothes are required to participate in IEA. This includes: a non-plastic helmet that fits with hair underneath it, a show jacket (preferably navy), a white ratcatcher (show shirt), tan/beige breeches, and well-fitted tall boots. Riders are required to participate in team practices in addition to regular lessons.
